Dr.Pedro albizu Campos My hero

Who is Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos? For some of you who don’t know, he was the President of the Puerto Rican nationalist Party. During the 30s thru the 60s he fought for the independence of Puerto Rico. The United States had taken over in 1898.In 1897 after the United States have beaten Spain  Puerto Rico was forming its own Government we had a working Post office and Government and was coincided an Independent sovereign country under international law. Dr. Campos was a Harvard law student which knew 7 languages. He also fought in world War1 and was an officer in the United States army. However Puerto Ricans were not happy with The United States taken over Puerto Rico so they fought for our independence. In March of 1937 Many Puerto Ricans were gunned down by the police in a protest in Ponce, ordered by the United States Government: wasn’t that supposed to be our constitutional right? Like always we are 2nd class citizens so I ‘m not surprised. I don’t understand America; since I was a young I have been hearing go back to your country spic. If they feel like that, why did they give Dr. Campos such a hard time?  Why not just leave us alone? The more research I do the more ammunition I have to protect myself from those who try to put me down. I wish I would off known of Dr. Campos back in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. They put Dr Pedro Albizu Campos In jail throughout his career, and tortured him in Federal prison. Meanwhile Charles Manson who had people killed for no apparent reason was given respect and life in Prison along with several motion pictures. American criminals’ get more respect than the real heroes. I’m not trying to start something here, I am just learning and sharing. If you are Puerto Rican and deal with some racism in your area it’s ok to say we didn’t want to be part of you! You forced yourself on us. So deal with it.  Every leader we had they killed or put in jail, Just like African Americans, last I heard they brought Africans here then after the black man builds his country they want to get rid of them. I just don’t understand. However times have changed and the old regime of racism is dying, mix marriages are everywhere and people are starting to get along with each other. But I like to make something clear, I am here only because you labeled me an American, not because I wanted to be here, I am Puerto Rican and I am working on granting your wish. I will go back to Puerto Rico soon to live amongst my people.

Have a nice day :0)
